Welcome to the 2012 edition of the Vulcan Run! This is the 35th running of this Birmingham classic 10K. What started as the Bicentennial Run to celebrate the City of Birminghams 100 year birthday has grown into one of the most popular road races in the southeast.
Again this year we are offering a $5,000 purse sponsored by the Trak Shak as well as bonus incentives of $500.00 for the fastest male or female who breaks the course record (Male - Marcos Baretto, 1984: 28:18 and Female Christine Pfitzinger 1990: 32:330). In the event the course record is not broken we will offer $250.00 to the fastest male under 29:00 and the fastest female under 33:00. These prizes are not cumulative and the decision of the Race Director is final.
Whether your goal is prize money or finishing strong, stay around for the post race party with music and food inside Boutwell or jog the Free for All Fun Run at 9:30 to cool down. We look forward to having you.
